Passenger Seat by Stephen Speaks

This is one of the most favourite songs (and coincidentally, my first ever song) I ever played on my guitar since I was in first year high school. The simple thing is that I played the song using the standard tuning. But I realized that the real sound of the song is played using the capo placed on the 5th fret of the guitar and play a D major chord progression, which it will sound like a standard G major. I show you the diagram of the song.

The song's chords are a bit very easy to play. I hope that beginners can also try to play this. If you don't have a capo, I also transcribe the chords using the standard tuning.

NOTE: Split chords (such as D/F# = 2xx232) are played using a chord but it includes a bass note which is inverted, and can be played as one chord.

The chords in this song are played all throughout unless otherwise noted.

Intro, Verses, Chorus, Instrumental:
(Capo placed on the 5th, 4/4).

D - A/C# - Bm - - - G - - - A11 - - A -

Bridge (I know that this love grows)
Gmaj7 - - - F#m7 - - - Gmaj7 - - - A11 - - -

(Using the standard tuning, but A11 is substituted with that chord specified below)

Intro, Verses, Chorus, Instrumental
G - D/F# - Em - - - C - - - D7sus4 - - - D -

Bridge (I know that this love grows)
Cmaj7 - - -Bm7 - - - Cmaj7 - - - D7sus4 - - -

Order of the song:

INTRO [x2] - VERSES [x2] - CHORUS [x2] - VERSES [x2] - CHORUS [x4] - BRIDGE - ADLIB [x2] - then pause at G (or D at 5th fret capoed) at 32 bars then play (D7sus4 (or A11 at 5th fret capoed) - CHORUS [x4] - then end at G (or D at 5th fret capoed)

So there you have it guys! Hope you get this right. You can use your own strumming patterns or you can listen to the real recording in order to get the same strumming pattern. This would be a big help especially to all guitarists out there. Until my next blog post.
